About Newfinishes

  • Andy Molenda – President
  • In 1985, when Andy formed New Finishes, his goal was simple; provide an outstanding finished product by paying attention to the details. Like many small business people, he faced the challenges of balancing work and family. As the company grew, he expected the same level of commitment from his employees as he had always provided. Andy quickly realized that if his employees were happy and felt part of a team, they would want to do a good job and would really care about their work. It makes him feel good knowing our company is dedicated, professional and everyone enjoys what they do. This rewarding combination benefits the customer, knowing that we care today and tomorrow. Some of his favorite times have been coaching soccer for 15 years and staying active biking, boating, skiing and ATV weekend trips.
  • Beverly Molenda – C.O.O.
  • After spending 16 years in the corporate world, Beverly began her career at New Finishes in 2003. Her discipline and organizational skills raised the level of management at New Finishes. It became not just a great painting company but it evolved to a well run efficient operation, vital in today’s market. She enjoys and takes credit for making sure the expectations of the customer are exceeded. Beverly also coordinates the scheduling including pick-up and deliveries of our projects. When she is not in the office, you can find her hiking with Andy, watching her son play high school football, and playing goalkeeper for not one but two women’s indoor soccer teams.
  • Paul Sullivan – Lead Electrostatic Painter
  • Paul started with New Finishes in 1997 with a strong background in automotive painting. He quickly adapted to the unique set of skills required of an Electrostatic Painter. One of his favorite aspects of his position is having people stop and watch with amazement as he paints item with ease and precision and virtually no overspray. They often stop and ask “How does that work? It looks great and you make it look so easy.” Paul enjoys working directly with the customer demonstrating his ability to meet the schedule and work together with the other contractors on the project. Paul is an avid outdoorsman, enjoying back packing and fishing. He thoroughly enjoys the area surrounding Winthrop where his family has a cabin.
  • Matterson (Happy) Gilmore – Lead Shop Painter
  • After joining New Finishes in 1999, Happy left for a short period to pursue a career as a bathtub refinisher. Later refining his skills at a large cabinet/door shop, he brings great value with his ability to paint a variety of surfaces in different shapes and sizes in an efficient and consistent manner. His father was a captain of ship for the US Government and he was raised in different countries around the world. He loves to talk about his worldly experiences and exposure to various cultures and cuisine making for a lot of entertaining stories. After so much travel, Happy is now most content spending time with his family, enjoying music, and buying and selling antiques and collectibles.
  • Ken Riley – Shop and Special Projects
  • Kenny began work in 1994 with M & M Finishers, a company recently acquired by New Finishes. With M & M’s history of working with companies in the aerospace and industrial painting industries, Kenny has experience working with aluminum, composites, and a variety of ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Currently, he supports shop functions in every capacity from the preparation for painting to operating the forklift to load your items safely for delivery back to you. Kenny enjoys spending time with his family in Seattle.
  • Vu Tran – Lead Powder Coater
  • Working since 1996 in the machinist industry, Vu received his certificate in CNC Fabrication. He received his powder coating experience from an established local manufacturing company. His knowledge of powder coating and manufacturing allows him to see the whole picture from fabrication of a project, through the coating process, and to its final use as part of small or large project. Vu enjoys being a husband & father. He is dedicated to doing whatever it takes for his job and family. His other great loves are fishing and the Seahawks.
  • Sean Coomes – Operations
  • Sean came to New Finishes in early 2009 from running his own Auto Reconditioning business. This gives him knowledge of operating a business and keeping the “Big Picture” in mind along with project management, to make the process efficient and quick. In his down time Sean enjoys working on his numerous car and home remodeling projects and spending time with his wife and daughter.
